Chris was invited to assess the technical feasibility of hosting England Cricket World Cup 2019 matches at the former London Olympic Stadium as a consultant to the Trivandi project team.
The England and Wales Cricket Board were keen to assess the venue’s capability given its ability to reconfigure seats in the lower bowl to accommodate a circular cricket pitch to minimum ICC standards.
Chris lead on the feasibility study to determine the pros and cons of inserting the field of play and a complex set of technical requirements in relation to player’s performance criteria and media accommodation within the seating bowl itself.
We conducted a study on a centre out basis that covered the field of play, sport areas, VIP and ICC members areas, media areas, spectator facilities, operations, venue boundary and security , transportation and potential legacy benefits.
